The commissioning of a series of life size bronze kangaroo sculptures (by Smith Sculptors) was the impetus for a project to develop an urban setting on the edge of Stirling Gardens, St Georges Terrace, Perth.
David was engaged by the City of Perth to develop a space for the sculptures and to improve the relationship of the gardens with the St. Georges Terrace streetscape.
The scope of work included design of new paving, street furniture and planting at street level along with the removal of existing Toodjay stone walls and design of a new water feature with coordination of integrated artworks.
Works extended to include refurbishment of the existing lower pool, design of access walkways and upgrades to furniture and lighting throughout the gardens.
The landscape consultancy scope included concept design, documentation and construction supervision including coordination of a range of sub consultants providing inputs to public art, water feature hydraulics, lighting and irrigation.
