The scope of this project included landscape architectural services for the design and documentation a new ‘greenfield’ airport to service fly-in, fly-out personnel for a new iron ore mine and regional tourism to the nearby Karijini National Park.
The landscape consultancy included development of a series of concepts connecting an iconic air terminal building to the unique landscape character of the region.
Detailed design and documentation for tender was undertaken with planting design integrated with the treatment of waste water from the airport terminal.  With the arrival of the GFC, plans for construction were scrapped by the client, Pilbara Iron.
