The development of a landscape strategy for Perth Airport defined goals and standards for the public realm by Perth Airport (PAPL), developers and design consultants.
The work included preparation of comprehensive standards for civil elements, landscaping and irrigation for application in land-side areas including roadway corridors, new and existing commercial domains, terminal areas, amenity landscapes, airport support service areas and areas of cultural or environmental significance.
The landscape strategy identifies key focus areas where the development and maintenance of the public realm occurs.
Within these areas, over arching principles, objectives and actions are considered and defined.
Within these areas, over arching principles, objectives and actions are considered and defined.
These relate to identity and branding, accessibility, environment, management and safety within the airport estate.
The standards components aim to facilitate the establishment of sustainable, long term ‘green infrastructure’ assets which can be effectively maintained and which make a valued contribution to the amenity of the estate.
