The NorthLInk WA project provides a direct connection between major freight routes within the Perth metropolitan area and the Brand Highway which links to the North West.
The 37km link connecting the Perth to Darwin National Highway, provides an opportunity for an integrated landscape and urban design response which recognises and enhances natural and cultural values along the roadway.
The Landscape and Urban Design scope aimed to integrate the new road infrastructure into the surrounding physical and visual landscape.
Themed landscape, and urban design elements including bridge structures, retaining / noise walls and surface treatments were considered.
David developed a variety of strategies to provide context and direction for the joint venture team responsible for carrying out detail design and constructing the project.
