The Parkerville Campus of Mundaring Christian College is a new four stream secondary school located in the forest on the edge of the Darling Scarp.
The client brief required the preparation of a site masterplan to guide landscape development and to support a planning application for a new building.  With a rich natural environment and an emphasis on artisan education, opportunities for outdoor learning and areas for horticulture were identified and included in the plans.
The concept considered issues such as fire management, site drainage and the provision of shade.  Working closely with Broderick Architects, landscape works were designed and detailed including deciduous trees as a fire buffer for buildings and native plants with local rock forming feature landscapes in stormwater swales.
